The Flames Even Strength program is expanding outside of Calgary to support hockey for all children playing in leagues in southern Alberta. What this means for Canmore Minor Hockey participants from low income families (and applying to the Bow Valley or Provincial Fund Chapter's of KidSport), is that they will now have access to an additional $100 (in addition to the KidSport chapter grant) to support their registration fees AND access to no-cost equipment from the Calgary Flames Sports Bank. Before applying to KidSport, families will need to register with C.M.H.A. and then apply to the KidSport Bow Valley Chapter OR Provincial Fund Chapter. There is an Even Strength box to be checked on the application to indicate that the family wishes to access that additional $100*.
