Initiation - Home

Initiation Hockey is an instructional “learn hockey” program focusing on all hockey fundamentals including skating, puck handling, balance, passing, shooting, and fun for kids aged 4 through 6. The Initiation Teams generally have two (2) hours of practice time a week and up to six (6) home exhibition games. Occasional away games are not paid for by the CMHA but often it is negotiated that teams hosted by Canmore are to reciprocate the offer. Depending on enrolment numbers, kids in their first or second year of play may be selected to play on a Jr. Initiation team which will focus more on skating fundamentals.
Kids finishing the Initiation program can either enter into the House League Program or try-out for a CAHL Hockey Team.
