CAHL Hockey - Home
|
|
The Canmore Minor Hockey Association offers a competitive CAHL Hockey Program for male and female players aged 7 (Novice) through 17 (Midget). CAHL hockey is targeted at children interested in playing hockey in various locations throughout central Alberta in the Central Alberta Hockey League (CAHL) and occasionally in other locations for tournaments, exhibition games, etc.
The schedule and travel on a CAHL Team is more rigourous than on a House Team. There is a minimum of two (2) hours a week of practice but typically three (3) or more including the possibility of regularly scheduled morning practices and practices in Banff. Games are generally played once and sometimes twice a weekend for up to a total of twenty-four (24) home games (which includes both league games and exhibition games) plus additional away games.
Players must try-out and be selected to play on a CAHL Hockey Team. Based on their Evaluations, players will be placed on a tiered team according to skill level. Depending on the number kids trying out for placement on a CAHL Hockey Team and the number of CAHL teams allocated in each division, not all kids will be guaranteed a spot on the team.
Please note that kids wishing to try-out for a CAHL Team should indicate such on their Registration Form.
