Mandatory Equipment - Skater

  • Helmet with a cage
  • Chest Protector
  • Elbow Pads
  • Hockey Pants
  • Gloves
  • Shin Pads
  • Hockey Socks
  • Protector Cup (Jock/Jill)
  • Neck Guard
  • Skates
  • Stick
  • Stick tape 
  • Practice jersey
  • Labeled water bottle

 

Mandatory Equipment - Goalie: U11 and older (CMHA has goalie gear avail)

  • Helmet with a cage
  • Chest Protector
  • Hockey Pants
  • Glove & Blocker
  • Goalie Pads
  • Protector Cup
  • Neck Guard
  • Goalie Skates Skates
  • Stick
  • Practice jersey 
  • Labeled water bottle

 

* Mouth Guards for players and goalies are optional, but highly recommended, especially in the older divisions.

 

Buying Equipment:

Equipment can be new or used! Just make sure it's in good condition.

  • Sports stores (Sports Experts, Canadian Tire, Sport Chek, Pro Hockey Life, Source for Sports etc)
  • Consignment Stores such a Sports Garage
  • Used via Facebook Marketplace, CMHA Gear Swap Facebook Group or from friends!

 

Hockey equipment can be expensive, and there is often a temptation to buy gear that is too large so your child can “grow into it.” However, properly fitted equipment is essential for both safety and success on the ice.
